Letizia's Natural Bakery Case Study

Project Overview

Letizia's Natural Bakery, located in the Chicagoland area, is known for crafting delicious pastries using all-natural ingredients. They offer a variety of specialty coffees and drinks. To make ordering more convenient for their customers, we developed a mobile app. This app was designed to make online ordering easier for customers seeking their delightful pastries and specialty beverages.

My Role

In this role as a UX Designer, I conducted user research, performed a competitive analysis, developed user flows, wireframes, and created a prototype. I was actively engaged in a real client project as part of my a UX Design Certificate.

  • User Flows
  • Prototype
  • Competitive Analysis
  • Wireframes

Design Process

During one of the UX design courses I learned all about Design Thinking, which is composed of five stages.
These stages are:

  1. Empathize - understand users
  2. Define - define the problem
  3. Ideate - brainstorm solutions
  4. Prototype - create mock-ups
  5. Test - gather feedback
During the Prototype stage, I created wireframes and low-fidelity prototypes. The wireframes provided a basic layout, while low-fidelity prototypes focused on functionality. In the Test stage, users interacted with these prototypes, offering feedback to improve the layout and functionality.

Low-Fidelity Prototype

After creating the low-fidelity prototype, I provided users with a link to access and explore the prototype. Five users were invited to use the basic features of the prototype and share their thoughts. Their input and feedback was recorded and analyzed making improvements to the prototype prior to moving the the next stage which is creating the high-fidelity prototype.

Below is a link to the prototype that was shared with the users.

Visual Identity System - Style Guide

In the fifth course of the UX Design Certificate, I created a visual identity system which is a collection of visual elements and a style guide which states when to use these elements.

Visual styles refer to the typography, color palette, and icons.

UI components refer to menus, navigation bars, buttons, plus more interface elements and features.

High-Fidelity Prototype

In the fifth course of the UX Design Certificate, titled "Create High-Fidelity Designs and Prototypes in Figma," I progressed from low-fidelity prototypes to high-fidelity ones. I created the high-fidelity prototype, I took into consideration the typography, color schemes, and interactive components to ensure a polished final product.
